a) When visiting our website
When you visit our website at www.sedotec.de, information is automatically sent to our website server by the browser used on your end device. This information is temporarily stored in a so-called log file. The following information is collected without your intervention and stored until it is automatically erased:

  • IP address of the requesting computer,
  • Date and time of access,
  • Name and URL of the file accessed,
  • Website from which the access was made (referrer URL),
  • The browser used and, if applicable, the operating system on your computer as well as the name of your access provider.

The aforementioned data is processed by us for the following purposes:

  • Ensure a smooth connection set-up of the website,

  • Evaluate system security and stability, and
  • for other administrative purposes.

The legal basis for the data processing is Article 6 (1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest follows from the data collection purposes listed above. In no case do we use the collected data for the purpose of drawing conclusions about your person. In addition, we use cookies and analysis services when you visit our website. You can find more detailed explanations on this under points 4 and 5 of this privacy policy.

b) When registering for our newsletter

If you have given your express consent in accordance with Article 6 (1)(a) GDPR, we will use your email address to send you our newsletter on a regular basis. It is sufficient to provide an email address to receive the newsletter. You can unsubscribe at any time, for example via a link at the end of each newsletter.

3. Forwarding data

Your personal data will not be transferred to third parties for purposes other than those listed below. We only pass on your personal data to third parties if:

  • you have given your express consent in accordance with Article 6 (1)(a) GDPR,
  • the disclosure is necessary for the assertion, exercise or defence of legal claims in accordance with Article 6 (1)(f) GDPR and there is no reason to assume that you have an overriding interest worthy of protection in the non-disclosure of your data,
  • in the event that there is a legal obligation for disclosure in accordance with Article 6 (1)(c) GDPR, and
  • this is legally permissible and necessary for processing contractual relationships with you in accordance with Article 6 (1)(b) GDPR.

4. Cookies

We use cookies on our site. These are small files that are automatically created by your browser and stored on your end device (laptop, tablet, smartphone or similar) when you visit our website. Cookies do not cause any damage to your end device and do not contain any viruses, Trojans or other malware. Information is stored in the cookie that is related to the specific end device used. However, this does not mean that we gain direct knowledge of your identity. The use of cookies serves, on the one hand, to make it more convenient for you to use our service offering. We use so-called session cookies to identify that you have already visited individual pages on our website. These are automatically deleted after you leave our website.
In addition, we also use temporary cookies, which are stored on your end device for a certain fixed period of time, to optimise user-friendliness. If you visit our website again to use our services, the cookies automatically recognise that you have already been to our website and which entries and settings you have made so that you do not have to enter them again. On the other hand, we also use cookies to statistically record the use of our website and to evaluate it for the purpose of optimising our offering for you (see point 5). These cookies enable us to automatically recognise that you have already been to our website when you visit it again. These cookies are automatically deleted after a specified period of time. The data processed by cookies is necessary for the aforementioned purposes as well as to protect our legitimate interests and those of third parties in accordance with Article 6 (1)(f) GDPR. Most browsers accept cookies automatically. However, you can configure your browser so that no cookies are stored on your computer or so that a notice always appears before a new cookie is created. The complete deactivation of cookies may mean, however, that you cannot use all the features on our website.

5. Plugins and tools

Google Fonts
This website uses fonts provided by Google to uniformly display fonts on the web pages. When you call up a web page, your browser loads the required fonts into its browser cache in order to display texts and fonts correctly. For this purpose, the browser you are using has to connect to Google’s servers. This informs Google that our website has been accessed via your IP address. Google Fonts are used to ensure a uniform and appealing presentation of our online services. This represents a legitimate interest within the meaning of Article 6 (1)(f) GDPR. If your browser does not support Google Fonts, a standard font from your computer will be used. Further information on Google Fonts can be found at https://developers.google.com/fonts/faq and in Google’s privacy policy: https://www.google.com/policies/privacy/.

Privacy policy on the use and application of MailChimp
The newsletter is sent using MailChimp, a newsletter dispatch platform belonging to the US provider Rocket Science Group, LLC, 675 Ponce De Leon Ave NE #5000, Atlanta, GA 30308, USA.
The company is certified under the Privacy Shield agreement and therefore guarantees compliance with European data protection law (https://www.privacyshield.gov/participant?id=a2zt0000000TO6hAAG). The email addresses of our newsletter recipients, as well as their other data described in this privacy policy, are stored on MailChimp servers in the USA. MailChimp uses this information to send and evaluate the newsletter on our behalf. Furthermore, according to its own information, MailChimp might use this data to optimise or improve its own services, e.g. for technically optimising the dispatch and presentation of the newsletters, or for economic purposes in order to determine the countries from which the recipients come. However, MailChimp does not use the data relating to our newsletter recipients to write to them itself or pass the data on to third parties.
You can find MailChimp’s privacy policy here: https://mailchimp.com/legal/privacy

Statistical survey and analyses
The newsletters contain a so-called “web beacon”, i.e. a pixel-sized file that is retrieved from the MailChimp server when the newsletter is opened. Within the scope of this retrieval, technical information, such as information on your browser and system, your IP address and the time of the retrieval are initially collected. This information is used for technically improving the services based on the technical data or the target groups and their reading behaviour, as established by the retrieval locations (which can be determined with the help of the IP address) and the access times.
Statistical surveys also include determining whether newsletters are opened, when they are opened and which links are clicked. For technical reasons, this information can be assigned to the individual newsletter recipients. However, it is neither our intention nor that of MailChimp to monitor individual users. Rather, the analyses are much more aimed at identifying our users’ reading habits so that we can adapt our content for them or send different content according to the interests of our users.

VAMOCAD

VAMOCAD is a software program for configuring the kit system for VAMOCON low-voltage switchgear assemblies.
As a user, you register with your data in order to use VAMOCAD. Once your registration is accepted, your data will be stored internally. If access to VAMOCAD is not granted, the data provided by the user will be erased.
The user behaviour is evaluated in order to improve the software tools and services. These evaluations are only carried out and used internally and are not made available to third parties.

  • in accordance with Article 77 GDPR, to complain to a supervisory authority. As a rule, you can contact the supervisory authority for your usual place of residence or workplace or our company headquarters for this purpose.

7. Right of revocation

In the latter case, you have a general right of objection, which is implemented by us without specifying a particular situation. If you would like to make use of your right of revocation or objection, it is sufficient to send an email to datenschutz@sedotec.de.

8. Data security

We use the widespread SSL procedure (Secure Socket Layer) in connection with the highest encryption level supported by your browser when visiting the website. As a rule, this is 256-bit encryption. If your browser does not support 256-bit encryption, we use 128-bit v3 technology instead. You can tell whether an individual page of our website is encrypted by the closed display of the key or lock symbol in the lower status bar of your browser. We also use appropriate technical and organisational security measures to protect your data against accidental or intentional manipulation, partial or complete loss, destruction or against unauthorised access by third parties. Our security measures are continuously improved in line with technological developments.
